Sydney's Catholic Archdiocese seeks $20m-plus for Strathfield property

Catholic Archdiocese seeks $20m-plus sale for Strathfield site bought at $2.1m in 1992.

The Catholic Archdiocese of Sydney is hoping to sell its landmark Strathfield property for more than $20 million. The Archdiocese bought the heritage site at 95-103 Albert Road in 1992 for about $2.1 million.

The property spans 6,635 square metres and includes 30 bedrooms, 13 bathrooms and 45 car spaces. The Catholic Institute Sydney currently occupies the site.

The Institute plans to relocate closer to the University of Notre Dame Australia's Broadway Campus. The site dates back to the 1890s and was extended in 1911, with a library added in 1996.

The property previously housed community services before being sold to Australia Post, which occupied it until the Archdiocese purchased it.
