Nine weapons seized in Ballarat shopping centre blitz
Nine weapons, including a meat cleaver and hammer, were seized at Ballarat's Stockland Wendouree on September 24.
Police searched 313 people at Stockland Wendouree in Ballarat on Thursday as part of a school-holiday weapons crackdown. Twenty-five officers searched the centre, car parks and nearby streets over 10 hours.
Police seized nine weapons total and arrested two people on outstanding warrants. Inspector Caroline Johnson said the operation was well-received and shops and the public were cooperative.
The force plans more operations in the area as part of a 90-day push. Officers will be stationed in community hotspots for three hours daily.
