Murder charge filed in Carlton apartment death
A 31-year-old man charged with murdering Jayda Allen Bonner, 21, found dead in Carlton apartment.
Jayda Allen Bonner was found dead at an apartment on Cardigan Street, Carlton, just before 2am on Saturday. The 31-year-old man accused of her murder turned himself in to police early Tuesday morning.
Detectives say the victim and the accused knew each other. A 60-year-old man was arrested at the scene but later released and is not facing charges.
The accused will appear in Melbourne Magistrates' Court today. Ms Bonner was a Yagera woman with family in Queensland.
Her aunt described her as a gentle soul with a heart of gold.
