Nissan Navara Pro PHEV could get two suspension choices for Australia
Nissan is weighing leaf-spring and coil-spring suspension options for its Navara Pro PHEV ute launching in Australia in 2027.
Nissan engineers are evaluating both leaf-spring and coil-spring suspension for the Navara Pro PHEV plug-in hybrid ute. The two suspension types suit different buyers.
Workers who carry heavy loads prefer leaf springs for their load-carrying ability. Everyday drivers prefer coil springs for comfort and handling.
The previous D23 Navara offered both types the same way. Engineers are also testing tyres, differentials, towing performance, payload, and off-road modes.
The Australian engine is a 2.0-litre turbo petrol paired with an electric motor. It uses an eight-speed automatic, targeting 300kW of power and 800Nm of torque.
Nissan is targeting 1000kg payload and 3500kg towing capacity, putting it closer to diesel rivals' abilities. Final specs and pricing will be announced at launch in 2027.
