Woman accused of attempted murder of three children seeks bail in higher court
Woman accused of attempting to kill three children by driving them into a creek seeks bail in the Victorian Supreme Court.
A woman arrested in March after her submerged car was found in a creek has made a second bail bid. The woman faces 11 charges including five counts of attempted murder.
Prosecutors allege she drove her vehicle off a boat ramp into the water with three children inside and locked the doors. The woman has been undergoing treatment at a secure forensic mental health facility.
Her barrister told the court she has severe obsessive compulsive disorder and severe pre- and post-natal depression, and was experiencing an acute mental health crisis at the time. He argued she is no longer an acute risk and would live with her parents with no contact with the children.
A magistrate rejected her bail bid in September. Justice Amanda Fox will deliver her decision on Friday.
