Piastri hit Lindblad in the closing laps, copped a 10-second penalty, and fell from seventh to 15th place.
Oscar Piastri crashed into Arvid Lindblad's car in the closing laps of the Mexico City Grand Prix and was handed a 10-second time penalty by stewards. The penalty dropped him out of the points from 15th place, stripping him of six points.
Stewards ruled Piastri was wholly responsible for forcing Lindblad to retire. Piastri claimed Lindblad shut the door late, pushing him wide, but stewards said he could have avoided the crash by moving further left.
