Redbelly Network has named Christian Westerlind Wigstrom as chief executive from November. He will lead its push into regulated tokenisation.
This means converting assets like shares and funds into digital tokens. Wigstrom spent years running payments platform Monoova, which processed $200 billion.
Monoova provided infrastructure for companies including Wise and Carsales. Christian Westerlind Wigstrom has served on boards of FinTech Australia and the Australian Payments Network.
Redbelly develops blockchain infrastructure for regulated financial markets. Compliance and identity verification are built into its network.
The company took part in Project Acacia. This is run by the Reserve Bank and Digital Finance Cooperative Research Centre.
It tests tokenised assets on blockchain.
