A bushfire near Nunamara in Tasmania's north has prompted a Watch and Act warning for Patersonia Road as crews battle difficult conditions. Three aircraft, ten ground crews and a dozer are working the blaze, which has burned 35 hectares.
Winds are swinging frequently, making it hard to predict the fire's path. Two properties are under threat and crews are doing asset protection work at both.
Fire Service operations chief Jeremy Ripper said the main challenge is getting close to the fire. Firefighters are using a dozer to carve tracks through thick bush.
Residents are advised to check their bushfire plans and leave early if they decide to go.
