Theatre Lane car park reopens with 57 spots on October 31
Fifty-seven two-hour parking spaces return to Civic on October 31 as light rail construction progresses toward 2028.
Canberra's Theatre Lane car park will reopen to the public on Sunday, October 31, freeing up 57 two-hour parking spots for downtown drivers. Parking will be free after 5.30pm Wednesday to Sunday.
The reopened car park will be more than 70 per cent smaller than before, with the remaining space now part of the construction site for a new lyric theatre. Light rail works between Alinga Street and Commonwealth Park are on schedule.
Works on the three new light rail stops have recently been completed with columns and canopies now in place, and platform fit-out is underway. Scaffolding at two of the stops will come down in coming weeks.
