Crows end Suns' winning streak with stunning comeback at Unley
Adelaide defeated Gold Coast 10.3 (63) to 7.11 (53) to snap the Suns' six-game winning streak and keep their own finals hopes alive.
The Adelaide Crows pulled off a dramatic 10-point win over Gold Coast on Saturday, ending the Suns' barnstorming run of six straight wins and boosting their own finals chances. Sisters Grace and Niamh Kelly combined for five goals, with Grace kicking three goals in a game for the first time in her AFLW career.
Young star Chloe Bown sealed the win with a brilliant goal a minute from time. The match swung on Adelaide's defence and composure under pressure, Gold Coast had more of the ball and landed inside their attacking 50 more often, but the Crows kicked straighter when it counted.
Grace Kelly's composure and sister Niamh's powerful 45-metre major set up the home side's nine-point lead at three-quarter time. Coach Ryan Davis praised his team's ability to stay composed and finish on the right side of the scoreboard.
On a downside, Adelaide midfielder Maddie Newman was carried off with a potentially serious knee injury.
