Orbit Resources finds 1km magnetic target in NSW mineral hunt
Drone surveys reveal a kilometre-long magnetic anomaly near Orbit's zinc, copper and gold discovery.
Orbit Resources has found a new magnetic target one kilometre long at the Lewis Ponds project, 15 kilometres east of Orange in NSW. The target sits next to the company's recent Cousin Jack discovery.
Drilling at Cousin Jack has found broad zones of zinc, lead, copper, silver and gold. Drone data was collected in September.
Geophysical experts analysed the data and identified the anomaly. The magnetic response could show pyrrhotite.
The electrical response could point to disseminated sulphides. Orbit says the new target could extend the known mineralisation.
Or it could be a fresh sulphide system. The company plans ground surveys and electromagnetic mapping first.
This will sharpen the target before drilling starts. Assays from the latest drill campaign are pending.
This could bring news in the near term.
