Southeast Queensland braces for heavy rain after three months of drought
Southeast Queensland is set to receive significant rainfall from Tuesday, after just 16mm in the past three months.
Southeast Queensland is about to get a major rainfall event. Brisbane has received only 16mm of rain in the past three months and is forecast to get up to 15mm on Tuesday alone.
The Bureau of Meteorology is forecasting up to 44mm for Brisbane from Tuesday to Saturday, with showers expected most days. Roma, in the southern interior, could see up to 80mm, more rain than it has received in four months.
The moisture pool and surface troughs will bring some scattered to widespread thunderstorms, though some areas may miss out. Temperatures will be above average early in the week, cooling from Wednesday.
