A 917-acre mixed farm in South Australia's Mid North sold for $3.64 million, valuing it at close to $4000 per acre.
A 371-hectare mixed farming property at Farrell Flat in South Australia's Mid North sold at public auction yesterday for $3,640,000 after a negotiation pause. The farm, held by the Rowett family for more than 40 years, failed to attract floor bids when the auctioneer opened at $4 million.
The auctioneer reduced the asking price twice to $3.7 million with still no bids from the four registered bidders. The auction paused to let agents speak with the vendors and registered bidders, then restarted with the lower price.
The property suits cropping, hay production and stock grazing, with secure water from two solar bores, stock-proof fencing and livestock infrastructure including a two-stand shearing shed. The farm is 23 kilometres northeast of Clare.
