Educator pleads guilty to assault of boy at Bolwarra childcare centre
Early childhood educator Jayley Louise Coote admitted to assaulting a preschooler, pushing the boy's head into a wall.
A 22-year-old educator at Tilly's Play and Development Centre in Bolwarra pleaded guilty to common assault. CCTV footage showed her pushing a preschooler's head toward a wall in June.
Coote had placed the boy across her lap, then forced his head to make contact with the surface. The boy's mother found out when her son said educators held him down.
She asked for CCTV review. The footage showed the boy distressed and kicking.
Coote was arrested in July. She initially denied the charges but changed her plea after prosecutors dropped a second charge.
Other educators present did not report or stop the assault.
