Man set to plead guilty to assault and GHB charges in Warrnambool

Mark John Ross agreed facts and will plead guilty on 19 consolidated assault charges, hearing set for December.

Mark John Ross appeared in Warrnambool Magistrates Court this week. Nineteen police case files were adjourned to a consolidated plea hearing on December 4.

The court heard the prosecution and Ross's lawyers had agreed on a statement of facts. Ross is accused of using GHB, a drug sometimes used to help commit assault.

This relates to allegations involving at least one woman. Police opposed his bail earlier this year.

They argued he was a risk of more offending and had broken court orders repeatedly. Ross has previous convictions and has been on community corrections orders.

The alleged victim has not made a statement to police and has stopped contact with investigators.
