Aurum extends West African gold resource ahead of major update
Aurum Resources found 57 metres of gold grading 2.34g/t at Boundiali, extending the 3.22-million-ounce West African resource.
Aurum Resources has extended gold mineralisation at its flagship Boundiali project in Côte d'Ivoire with a string of solid drill hits. The standout result was a 57-metre intersection grading 2.34 grams per tonne gold from 290 metres depth at the BST1 deposit, which included a two-metre section grading 37.95g/t gold.
Gold remains open along strike and at depth, suggesting further potential. The company also hit a 28-metre section at 2.02g/t gold at a new prospect called BMT2, including a 1.5-metre slice grading 31.29g/t gold.
A resource update for the entire Boundiali project is due at month-end, and most of these new intercepts fall outside the current resource envelope. Aurum is also testing its 1.16-million-ounce Napié project 100 kilometres away, with 16 diamond drill rigs on the ground.
