Canberra father charged over child grooming and abuse material
A man in his early 30s was arrested and charged with child indecency offences and grooming of a child under 10.
Police searched a north Canberra home on Thursday and arrested a man aged in his early 30s on suspicion of child abuse. Officers seized three mobile phones and found suspected child abuse material on one device.
The man has been charged with committing an act of indecency on a child under 10, committing an act of indecency on a child under 16, and child grooming. The charges include aggravating family violence elements.
He was set to face the ACT Magistrates Court on Friday. Police say anyone affected by sexual violence can report to police stations or call 131444, and historical incidents can be reported online.
