Terri Irwin marked 35 years since meeting Steve on October 6, 1991 at the Queensland Reptile and Fauna Park, a small roadside wildlife park. Steve's parents founded this park.

Steve and Terri took over and renamed it Australia Zoo in 1998. Terri called their meeting a life-changing moment.

They married in Oregon in June 1992. Their honeymoon led to filming that became the first episode of The Crocodile Hunter.

This made them international wildlife stars.
