GWM launching eight new vehicles in Australia by mid-2027
Chinese automaker GWM will launch eight new vehicles in Australia by mid-2027, including the Tank 800.
GWM is accelerating its Australian push with eight new model launches planned by mid-2027. The Chinese company is drawing on a much larger product blitz in South Africa, where 14 new vehicles are scheduled over the next 18 months.
Tank 800, a large SUV, is confirmed for Australia in 2027. V8 engines with 4.0-litre displacement are being developed and should arrive in Australia by the end of 2027.
Both Australia and South Africa are right-hand-drive markets, so models proven in one can move to the other. GWM currently ranks seventh in Australia and sixth in South Africa, with both aiming for the top five.
