Chad Gilbert, New Found Glory co-founder, dies at 45 from cancer
Co-founder and lead guitarist of pop-punk band New Found Glory died on September 20, aged 45.
Chad Gilbert passed away peacefully in his sleep on September 20, surrounded by family. Gilbert was diagnosed with liver cancer in 2021, and tumours later spread to his spine, lungs, and brain.
Despite the illness, Gilbert continued performing with New Found Glory throughout his treatment. The band rose to mainstream fame in 2002 with the single My Friends Over You and supported Green Day's American Idiot tour in 2004.
Gilbert is survived by his wife Lisa Cimorelli, daughter Lily, his mother, and brother.
