BYD pushes into fleet sales as it expands Australian network
BYD is pushing fleet sales from 20 per cent toward 30 per cent as it expands dealerships to 200 by 2027.
BYD is aggressively pursuing fleet buyers to reduce its reliance on private car sales. Fleet sales have jumped from 7-8 per cent of the Chinese brand's Australian mix last year to 20 per cent now, with a target of mid-30 per cent.
The company is offering fleet-focused models including the Shark cab-chassis. BYD is expanding its dealer network from 120 stores to 150 by the end of 2026 and 200 by 2027.
The expansion focuses on rural and regional areas where fleet buyers operate. The dealer expansion aims to embed the brand in local communities with sales, service and parts support.
