Man arrested over Wodonga kidnapping, assault with serious head injury
A 20-year-old was kidnapped on Woodland Street in Wodonga and assaulted at a remote location, causing a serious head injury.
A man has been arrested after allegedly kidnapping a Wodonga resident in the early hours of September 13. The 20-year-old was taken from Woodland Street at about 1.40am and driven to Browns Plains, where he was allegedly assaulted and suffered a serious head injury.
The victim was hospitalised following the attack. Police are treating the incident as a targeted assault on the victim.
A 39-year-old NSW resident with ties to Howlong was arrested on September 28 at Deer Park in Melbourne. He was charged with kidnapping, false imprisonment, armed robbery, intentionally causing injury, and drug possession.
The man faced Wodonga court and was remanded in custody, with his next court date set for December 3.
