Man jailed five years after crash breaching domestic violence order
Rolong Stanley, 32, was sentenced to five years for aggravated dangerous driving that killed his ex-partner Justine Hammond near Orange.
Stanley pleaded guilty to the crash on February 9, 2025, which killed Justine Hammond, a 42-year-old mother. Stanley breached an apprehended domestic violence order that prohibited him from contacting Hammond or being within 500 metres of her.
Stanley also breached an Intensive Correctional Order banning him from drinking. Blood tests after the crash found his blood alcohol concentration was four times the legal limit.
Stanley was driving an unregistered car with a defect notice while disqualified from holding a licence. Judge Penny Musgrave said his willingness to breach court orders placed upward pressure on the sentence.
He will be eligible for parole on May 12, 2029.
