Ukraine's military drones grounded as Starlink slows speeds
SpaceX imposed speed limits on Starlink terminals overnight, forcing Ukraine to cancel military drone missions.
Ukraine's battlefield operations depend on SpaceX's Starlink satellite internet to guide drone strikes and intercept Russian aircraft. On Tuesday, the company restricted Starlink's military-grade services without warning, forcing Ukraine's Air Assault Forces to cancel some missions.
Elon Musk said restrictions come from the US military and President Trump, not SpaceX. Speeds were later restored to 160 kilometres per hour, but Ukraine says all limits must be removed.
President Zelenskyy told Piers Morgan the slowdown would "bring a lot of human losses" and marks a break with America's support.
