Judge pushes to unite Top End Safari Camp crash lawsuits
A judge ordered lawsuits over the 2023 Top End Safari Camp airboat crash to be consolidated into one case.
Justice Michael Lee rebuked lawyers in September for splitting the case into three courts and demanded to know what steps had been taken to bring them together across the Federal Court and the Supreme Courts of Victoria and the Northern Territory.
An application to transfer the Victorian case was already underway. The crash in May 2023 left 13 tourists seriously injured when an airboat hit a tree in crocodile-infested waters south-west of Darwin.
Four families are suing the Wrights and Top End Safari Camp over the disaster.
