Hamas military commander Izz al-Din Al-Beik killed in Israeli airstrike.
Israeli and Palestinian officials confirmed his death. Izz al-Din Al-Beik, the head of Hamas' armed wing in northern Gaza, died in an Israeli airstrike.
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Defence Minister Israel Katz said the military targeted him for planning attacks and recruiting militants. Health officials said another person also died.
A building was hit at dawn in Gaza City's Nasr neighbourhood. Israel says it has killed at least 20 Hamas figures this month.
This includes people it links to the October 2023 attacks. Hamas denies it has rearmed or launched new attacks since the October ceasefire.
Hamas also says Israel is violating the deal. At least 1,400 Palestinians have been killed in Gaza since the ceasefire began.
Palestinian authorities say more than 73,000 people have been killed in Israel's assault on Gaza.
