Thief's getaway fails at bottle shop, tradie makes citizen's arrest
Daniel Jeffery-Scott, 22, stole from Dan Murphy's in Carine and tried to flee in a stolen Mazda, but couldn't release the handbrake.
A Perth man pleaded guilty on Tuesday to stealing from Dan Murphy's in Carine after his getaway attempt went comically wrong in July. Daniel Jeffery-Scott, 22, made it barely across the road before the stolen Mazda's handbrake jammed.
Daniel Jeffery-Scott then jumped out and ran on foot. Tradie Adam Breen filmed the failed escape, chased Jeffery-Scott, and made a citizen's arrest.
Breen even took a selfie while waiting for police. Jeffery-Scott pleaded guilty to stealing and several other charges and sprinted from court without answering questions.
