Armstrong hits clutch jumper as JackJumpers edge Melbourne United 84-82
Taran Armstrong's pull-up jumper with 5.5 seconds left gave Tasmania a pulsating 84-82 NBL win over Melbourne United at Hobart.
Armstrong drilled the decisive shot after Sam Waardenburg's three-pointer had levelled the scores at 82-82 with 14.2 seconds remaining on Thursday night. The home side almost squandered a huge lead, having been up 52-35 at half-time.
Will Magnay was immense for Tasmania, pairing 17 points with 12 rebounds in his 100th game. Josh Oduro (22 points) and Joe Ingles (18) led Melbourne's comeback.
The JackJumpers played without several key players but held on despite their visitors' furious fourth-quarter charge. Melbourne had one final chance but Malith Machar's long shot rimmed out.
