Yung Filly retrial date set after hung jury fails to reach verdict
A retrial has been scheduled for June 2027 for rapper Yung Filly after a hung jury.
Rapper Yung Filly, legally known as Andres Felipe Valencia Barrientos, will face a retrial beginning June 15, 2027. A July jury could not reach a verdict on three sexual penetration charges.
The jury convicted him of two assault offences and acquitted him of others. The 31-year-old was not required to attend Friday's hearing when the retrial date was set.
Judge Linda Black previously allowed him to travel to the UK while awaiting the new trial. The original incident involved a 20-year-old woman in Perth in 2024.
