Nick Daicos sets Brownlow record with 47 votes
The 23-year-old Collingwood star claimed the award on a record 47 votes while his team finished 10th.
Nick Daicos won the Brownlow Medal on Monday night with 47 votes, a new record. The Collingwood midfielder previously ran second in 2025 and 2024, and third in 2023.
Despite the individual honour, Daicos admitted it stings to watch September finals from home. Daicos said on Tuesday: "It sucks.
That's every footballer's dream, to play in big finals." Collingwood missed the top eight after a wildcard round exit this year.
Dual Brownlow medallist Lachie Neale and veteran Jesse Hogan are set to join Collingwood this off-season. Coach McRae has signalled Daicos will likely become permanent captain.
