Anh Do opens first solo art show at Newcastle gallery
Anh Do brings his first solo exhibition, featuring Archibald Prize entries and new landscapes, to Newcastle Art Gallery on November 28.
Vietnamese-born author, comedian and artist Anh Do kept a 10-year promise to Newcastle Art Gallery director Lauretta Morton. The exhibition, Seeing With Both Eyes, opens November 28 after the gallery finished a $48 million renovation.
The exhibition features Anh's Archibald Prize finalist entries, drawings from his children's books, and 10 new landscape paintings. Portraits from six seasons of ABC's Anh's Brush With Fame are shown.
These were loaned by the famous subjects. Anh's memoir The Happiest Refugee was voted number 29 last month.
This was in ABC Radio National's Top 100 Books of the 21st Century.
