Woman recants rape allegation against Jay-Z, says she never met him
A woman who sued Jay-Z for rape recanted her allegation in court, saying she never met him.
The woman was identified as Jane Doe in court papers. She had accused Jay-Z and Sean 'Diddy' Combs of raping her in 2000, when she was 13.
Jane Doe has now filed a declaration saying Jay-Z never raped her and they never met. The woman said her lawyers filed the original lawsuit in October 2024.
They did not conduct any independent investigation or get corroboration. Jane Doe said she contacted the law firm after seeing a Facebook ad seeking Combs abuse victims.
She filled out a form. She was never given a draft lawsuit to review before it was filed.
Jay-Z subsequently sued her and her law firm for defamation and malicious prosecution. Jay-Z's lawyers have dropped her as a defendant in that case.
