Molonglo police station delayed until at least late 2027
The promised Molonglo police station won't reach approval stage until late 2027, with construction timeline still uncertain.
Labor promised to build a new police station in Molonglo Town Centre before the 2024 ACT election. Police Minister Marisa Paterson revealed this week that the station won't progress to the approval stage until late 2027.
After that, approval is expected to take about 12 to 18 months. No construction start date has been set.
The delay has drawn criticism from opposition and the Greens. Reported offences in Molonglo rose about 12 per cent from 2024-25 to 2025-26.
Burglaries fell by about 32 per cent.
