New $17m health centre brings doctors closer to south Canberra
The South Tuggeranong Health Centre in Condor opened as the first of four new facilities promised by the ACT government.
The South Tuggeranong Health Centre in Condor cost $17 million. The centre offers community paediatrics, pathology tests, diabetes services, community nursing and allied health programs.
More than 40 health staff are moving to the centre by year-end. An open day is Saturday, 21 November at 10 am so residents can see rooms and meet staff.
Minister for Health Dr Marisa Paterson said the centre responds to years of locals asking for healthcare closer to home. Three other centres are planned for Inner South, West Belconnen and North Gungahlin.
The government is still finding a site for a fourth centre in Ginninderry.
