Chris Bradley loses McKinsey Global Institute board role over online comments
The firm says his public comments fell well short of its standards, and he remains a senior partner.
McKinsey has removed senior Australian partner Chris Bradley from his board role at its research arm. The review was sparked by a LinkedIn exchange last month.
Bradley had traded comments with one of the authors of a new book on the "glass cliff" for women. McKinsey spokesman Taylor Burns said his "public comments fell well short of the standards we expect at our firm".
Bradley remains a senior partner at the firm. Bradley also served as a leader on some internal committees.
The glass cliff describes women being more likely to be offered chief executive jobs at struggling companies. Supporters say research shows women get CEO chances more often when a company is in crisis.
In deleted posts, Bradley called the glass cliff "a very convenient way to always be a victim in the rain".
