Constable Mia Lay, 20, honoured at national police memorial

At National Police Remembrance Day on Tuesday, NSW Premier Chris Minns praised Lay. He said she was talented, optimistic and calm under pressure.
Police Commissioner Mal Lanyon said Lay and other fallen officers would always be part of the blue family. The service also honoured two Victorian officers killed in August 2025 while serving an arrest warrant.
Lay's name will be formally added to the National Police Memorial in Canberra in 2027.
