Sam Wood remanded at high-security Brisbane prison

Sam Wood, the former Bachelor Australia star, was transferred to Wolston Correctional Centre after being charged with strangulation and domestic violence.

Former fitness entrepreneur and reality TV star Sam Wood has been moved to Wolston Correctional Centre, a high-security Brisbane prison. Wolston houses high-profile inmates and those who cannot safely mix with the general prison population.

Wood, 46, is on remand after being charged with assault, domestic violence, and strangulation. Police allege an incident at Noosa on October 3 involved his wife Snezana.

A magistrate refused his bail, citing strong evidence and safety concerns. Wood built a multimillion-dollar fitness business following his Bachelor appearance but has since been dropped by health company DBG Health.

Why it mattersThe case shows how domestic violence allegations can rapidly unravel public figures' careers and lead to serious criminal charges with significant prison time at stake.
