Ollie Lord eyes new club after Port Adelaide delisting
Delisted 24-year-old key forward recovering from ACL rupture, convinced of getting another chance in AFL.
Ollie Lord lost his sixth and final year at Port Adelaide to a ruptured ACL suffered in a SANFL match in April, then was delisted. Halfway through rehab, he remains convinced his best football is ahead.
Ollie Lord played 35 games for the Power, kicked 33 goals, and showed physicality that complemented his 197cm frame. In just his 12th career game, he was given a defensive role on Brisbane captain Harris Andrews in a 2023 qualifying final and kicked four goals in a standout performance.
A leg fracture in pre-season cost him the first half of 2024, making the ACL injury feel crueller still. But Lord said he has never questioned whether he wants to play or is good enough.
He is running strongly now and expects to be available around next season's start.
