Wendouree beat Darley in a six-wicket victory with debutant Logan Attard taking two wickets.
Wendouree made a big statement in the Ballarat Cricket Association's opening weekend, beating Darley at CE Brown Reserve on Saturday. Tom Batters was great with the ball, giving up just six runs across 10 overs (1-6).
Logan Attard is a former Delacombe off-spinner playing two grades higher. He took two wickets on his top-flight debut and impressed captain Ash McCafferty.
Darley managed 9-135, which Wendouree chased down easily in a six-wicket win. McCafferty said the victory showed the Red Caps' depth, with some players still finishing overseas commitments.
