Petracca meets Pendlebury as Suns move to end speculation
Christian Petracca met Scott Pendlebury to signal his commitment to Gold Coast after weeks of rumoured interest from rival clubs.
The Melbourne star joined Gold Coast in 2026 and started strong, but his form dropped as the Suns lost 10 straight games and missed the finals. Three rival clubs told media they believed Petracca was open to moving elsewhere.
On Thursday, Petracca met Pendlebury, his childhood hero and incoming Suns recruit, at a cafe in Toorak. The public meeting appeared designed to show the speculation was over.
Pendlebury confirmed he is more than happy to join Gold Coast and has no intention of leaving. Suns midfielder Matt Rowell, linked to the Western Bulldogs, won't be going anywhere.
Young forward Jamarra Ugle-Hagan is highly likely to re-sign despite limited opportunities this year.
