CSIRO researcher urges Australia to invest in its own AI systems like UK and Canada
CSIRO researcher Ming Ding says Australia should match UK and Canada's sovereign AI investment and roadmaps.
Dr Ming Ding leads a group at CSIRO's Data 61. Dr Ding spoke to people in Canberra about how the UK and Canada are making serious moves toward sovereign AI capability.
The UK and Canada are putting money into national computing systems. The UK and Canada have released AI roadmaps that span ten years.
Ding said Australia should follow their example. This is important if Australia wants real independence in AI.
