Caleb Serong faces brother Jai in Freo's preliminary final
Caleb Serong says he will treat his younger brother Jai as just another opponent when Fremantle faces Sydney in Friday's preliminary final.
Caleb and Jai Serong will square off for the third time in their AFL careers, and the second time this season, in a clash where the winner reaches the Grand Final. Caleb is Fremantle's co-vice-captain.
Caleb said the matchup is exciting for the family but he will separate emotions from play. "For that 120 minutes when you're out there, he's just another jumper, another Swans jumper, another number, and then after the game he's my brother again," Caleb said on Monday.
The brothers previously crossed paths sparingly in their first two games. Jai's role in Sydney's midfield could mean more direct contests this Friday at the SCG.
