Police investigate car that nearly hit two children in Hervey Bay

Doorbell footage shows a white SUV clipping a child's bike, then damaging a fence as it sped away.

Doorbell camera footage shows two children almost hit by two cars in Hervey Bay, Queensland. The children were riding a bike and scooter on a footpath, about 5pm on Friday.

A dark car sped around a corner and narrowly missed one of the children. A white SUV followed closely behind, took the same turn at speed, and clipped a child's bike.

The SUV then mounted the kerb, drove between the children and damaged a fence as it sped away. A neighbour shared the footage on Facebook and said police were investigating.

Police confirmed an investigation is underway and called the incident troubling. Police urged anyone with vision or information to contact Crime Stoppers.
