Dolly Parton's final song to debut on Stanley Brothers tribute
Dolly Parton's first posthumous recording, 'Bound To Ride', will appear on a tribute album to bluegrass legends The Stanley Brothers.
Dolly Parton recorded 'Bound To Ride' in 2022 and it will now be released on an album celebrating 80 years of The Stanley Brothers. Parton recorded the vocals in her private studio during a COVID surge, not wanting to risk travel.
The tribute album, 'Where The Soul Never Dies', is produced by husband-and-wife team Garry West and Alison Brown. Other artists on the album include Willie Nelson, Steve Martin and Ed Helms.
Parton died on August 25 at age 80 following a brief battle with cancer. West said of her contribution: 'We didn't know what we would get back, and she really did over-deliver.'
