Easy Oar brings protein-focused healthy dining to Canberra's waterfront

Easy Oar, a health-focused cafe on the Canberra waterfront, lists protein content for every dish on its menu.

Easy Oar Cafe has opened at Black Mountain Peninsula in Acton with one of Canberra's most striking waterfront views, housed inside the Red Shed. The menu balances traditional cafe fare with fresh-focused dishes and lists the grams of protein in each meal.

The Vietnamese salad bowl with lemongrass-marinated chicken, vermicelli, cucumber, mint and crunchy peanuts contains 39 grams of protein for $24. The loaded sweet potato with spiced beef and salsa tops out at 36 grams for $26.

A wellness bar offers fresh-pressed juices and protein smoothies; the power choc smoothie delivers 52 grams of protein for $10. The cafe also serves bacon and egg rolls and fish and chips for those not counting macros.

It opens 7am to 2pm daily.
