Woman killed in truck collision near Purrumbete
A Cobden woman died when a motorcycle hit a truck at Purrumbete on Thursday afternoon.
A motorcycle and truck collided at the intersection of Nehill, Alexanders Road and Cobden-Stonyford Road about 5.15pm on October 8. The motorcyclist, a Cobden woman, died at the scene.
Two off-duty nurses gave CPR before emergency services arrived. The truck driver was a 39-year-old from Roxburgh Park.
He was taken to hospital with injuries that were not serious. The fatality brings Victoria's 2026 road toll to 203.
This is down from 232 at the same point last year. Police are still investigating.
The road will remain closed for several hours. The Heytesbury district has been hard hit.
Three fatal crashes happened in Simpson alone during 2025.
