Jack Ginnivan tells Tasmania Devils his Melbourne lifestyle is too good to leave

Ginnivan would not leave Melbourne for less than $2 million citing lifestyle, drawing Tasmania's sharp social media response.

Ginnivan is out of contract at the end of next year and told a radio show he could not leave his Melbourne life for Hobart. Jack Ginnivan joked that Hawthorn might not have the cash to re-sign him after hiring Zach Merrett and Ben King.

When asked if he would consider Tasmania's approach, he said his lifestyle was too good. He joked: 'If they offer me $2 million, I probably wouldn't say no.' Tasmania's official account responded on X, saying: 'Thinks he's on our target list and thinks he's worth $2 million.'

Ginnivan also said that recruiting from Melbourne and Gold Coast would be tough for the new club starting in 2028.
