Charlies Foundation targets $100,000 in 24-hour Perth hospital fundraiser
Charlies Foundation runs a 24-hour fundraiser Wednesday to raise $100,000 for seven hospital projects.
The Charlies Foundation for Research is asking Perth locals to donate on Wednesday. The goal is $100,000 in a single day.
The money will fund seven projects at Sir Charles Gairdner and Osborne Park hospitals. Staff in cancer, transplant research, emergency and intensive care developed these projects.
One project will buy scanners to help clinicians find and treat lymphedema earlier in breast cancer survivors. Other funds will replace celebration bells for patients finishing treatment.
More funds will upgrade the emergency department's training facilities. And more funds will create a dementia-friendly therapeutic garden at Osborne Park.
