Bryce Dridan faces 16 charges despite culpable driving acquittal

Dridan was acquitted of the 2023 burnout death but faces 16 charges for theft, assault, and handling stolen goods.

Bryce Dridan walked free in September from a culpable driving charge. A Melbourne jury found him not guilty of causing the death of an 18-year-old spectator at a 2023 burnout event in Stawell.

Bryce Dridan now faces 16 criminal charges. They date from December 2025 to June 2026.

The charges include theft of a motor vehicle, assaulting a police officer, and handling stolen goods. In June, Dridan allegedly stole a Hyundai Kona.

He was found slumped in it after a collision. Police say he kicked an officer in the face during arrest.

He elbowed another officer in the ribs. A knife fell from his pocket.

Officers later found a stolen Toyota Hilux and Honda motorcycle at his home. On October 9, a magistrate offered a six-month sentence if Dridan pleaded guilty.

His lawyer rejected the offer. His case returns to court on October 27.
