Teacher faces 16 charges over alleged filming of 357 children

Timothy Blamires, 33, now faces 16 charges. He allegedly used a hidden camera to film 357 children at a Melbourne primary school.

A teacher at Kingswood Primary School in Dingley Village has been hit with additional charges. Police say he secretly filmed more than 350 children without their knowledge.

Timothy Blamires was initially charged with five offences. Court documents released Friday show he now faces 16 charges.

Blamires, 33, was arrested in April after a cleaner discovered a camera inside an air freshener in the boys' toilets. Police say he filmed 282 children on three dates in October 2025.

He filmed another 75 children in March 2026. Blamires has been on remand since April.

The Victorian Institute of Teaching suspended him. The matter was adjourned until November.
